c'est la حياتي tote bag
Arab American National Museum
Lightweight tote bag featuring our drawing of an Arab bedouin woman with facial tattoos. This design pays homage to the tradition of facial tattooing, common all over the MENA region.
A very common French saying is “c’est la vie” which translates into “this is life” and is often used to express acceptance or resignation. Here it translates (roughly) into “this is my life,” illustrating a claim over your own life which is often taken from us by societal structures and norms.
Made in Ramallah, Palestine.
