We all grew up with a grandmother, a mother, an aunt, an uncle or a sister who could effortlessly share a mathal (proverb) at any moment! These sayings are not only practical (and often hilarious) but they also represent a vital part of our culture and identity as Arabs. In an effort to preserve them and pass them on to future generations, we’ve gathered some of our favorites - 101 of them - into a beautiful coffee table book that you can gift, share, or cherish for yourself.
The book features a beautiful hardcover, vibrant, eye-catching pages, and a beautiful ribbon to mark your favorite page, keep track of where you left off, or remind you to share a mathal with someone who perfectly fits one!
Every purchase directly supports the Arab American National Museum's mission to document, preserve, and celebrate Arab American history and culture. As the nation's first and only museum dedicated to Arab American history, your support helps us continue our educational programs and exhibitions.
